• FAQ

    • What type of flooring should I have in my kitchen or bathroom?

You always need to remember that kitchens and bathrooms are humid environments so should be careful to avoid anything slippery. Modern vinyls are a good floor covering for these areas including Karndean bespoke vinyl flooring, but you can also use a suitable carpet.

    • How do I measure up a room for flooring?

Always measure from the extremities on width and length or, alternatively, we are happy to do this for you as part of our service.

    • Do I need underlay and why?

Yes, especially for carpets. The benefits of a good underlay are:

      • Improves comfort underfoot
      • Helps reduce wear to your carpet
      • Improves insulation and warmth
      • Increases sound insulation (especially from upstairs rooms!)
      • Helps smooth out some sub-floor imperfections
    • What types of carpet can I buy?

Carpets are generally wool, manmade fibres or a mixture of the two.

Wool carpets have a historic reputation for quality as they are strong & resilient, easy to care for and soft & warm. manmade carpets are stain resistant, tough and hard-wearing.

A combination of the two such as wool rich 80 / 20 will them combine all of the above qualities making them ideal for the home.

    • What is the charge for removing old carpet and carpet padding and hauling it away?

Uplifting and disposing of old carpets is a service we offer. We also offer a furntiure moving service with charges according to individual requirements.
